Applications are invited to fill one postdoctoral position in condensed matter experiments at the Universidad de Los Andes at Bogotá - Colombia, starting January 15, 2013. This position, normally be expected to last for two years, is to work on Condensed Matter experiments at the Department of Physics of Universidad de los Andes. This university is currently ranked among the top 10 Universities in Latin America according to the QS world university rankings. The successful applicant is expected to do work in the group of Professor Edgar J. Patiño in experiments that involve growth and characterization of nano-structures and devices. The laboratory facilities are among the best in Colombia and include an e-beam and sputtering system for sample growth, He3 system for low temperature measurements, AFM- MFM and SEM for sample characterization, optical-electron lithography, VSM for sample magnetometry among others . The research group currently host two PhD students and one Master student. Applicants should send a CV and one letter of recommendation directly to professor Patiño.
